Can someone explain to me why asking for federal assistance is an issue? If the city/state can't do anymore, I think the next obvious step is to have federal intervention.

Bc liberal cities support "defunding the police" even though an audit recently revealed that the officers are unqualified and or undocumented with incomplete files for employment.
