What If Terence Crawford defeats Canelo Alvarez. Most people have Terrence Crawford as the underdog against Canelo, however what if Crawford shocks the world and wins. This is a huge possibility.
Many people believe Crawford has no chance in defeating Canelo because Crawford is moving up 3 weight classes from the 147 pound welterweight division all the way up to 168 pounds to fight Canelo. Many believe Crawford is just too small, which is indeed false!

Crawford has world class punching power and strong punch resistance. We saw Crawford giving Madrimov some hard hitting body shots at light middleweight, so we know Crawford has the ability to move up in weight and have some power.
Another thing is, Canelo's strength and punching power is overrated. It may be the case that Crawford is actually stronger than Canelo. There are videos of Crawford deadlifting 500 pounds while fighting at the smaller welterweight division, Crawford will have even more strength with added muscle at the heavier super middleweight 168 pound division. The question is can Canelo deadlift 500 pounds like Crawford ??? Can he?? I highly doubt so.

We saw Canelo fight against The smaller Jermell charlo who went up 2 weight divisions from 154 pounds to 168 pounds, and Canelo couldn't even knock out the smaller Jermell Charlo. Jermell lasted a full 12 rounds against Canelo which was a shocker. Canelo didn't have the strength to knock out Jermell Charlo, so will Canelo be strong enough to knockout Crawford, and Crawford is arguably physically stronger than Jermell.
Canelo isn't even a true 168 pounder. He moved up in weight, in 2013 he fought Mayweather at 152 pounds. Naturally Canelo is more of a 154-160 pounder in strength, Canelo fought Golovkin- Triple G at a mere 160 pounds. Which is actually Crawford's weight class as far as Crawford's natural strength and punching power. You have to remember that even though Crawford fought at welterweight, his strength and punching power was always too strong for welterweight opponents to handle, meaning Crawford's strength is actually too much for the welterweight division and his strength is actually better suited for the 154/160 pound middleweight divisions. In theory Crawford is only moving up about 1 or 2 weight classes above his natural strength. Both Canelo and Crawford are the same natural weight class according to their natural physical strength.
Canelo's only advantage against Crawford would be his size, but size won't be a huge advantage over Crawford because, Canelo might not even be physically stronger than Crawford.
